The 2UZ-FE VVT-i is a powerful and durable engine, offering increased torque, reliability, and modern diagnostics compared to earlier UZ engines. Whether you're building a high-performance project or an off-road beast, this engine provides:
✅ Coil-on-Plug Ignition – More reliable and tunable than distributor-based ignition.
✅ Variable Valve Timing (VVT-i) – Delivers better torque, fuel efficiency, and throttle response.
✅ OBD2 Diagnostics – Allows for simplified troubleshooting and tuning over outdated OBD1 systems.
✅ Iron Block Design – The stronger block makes it ideal for high-load applications.
With our professional wiring services, we ensure a seamless, plug-and-play installation for your 2UZ-FE VVT-i swap.
We fully modify your factory harness for manual transmission applications, removing all unnecessary wiring from the automatic transmission setup. Every wire serves a purpose, ensuring a clean and efficient install.
We integrate a fuse box directly into your harness, eliminating the need for factory vehicle wiring. This ensures a simpler installation and greater reliability.
Each harness is inspected, and brittle or aged components are replaced for long-term durability. Common replacement parts include:
✔ Coil connectors
✔ Injector connectors
✔ Cam sensor connectors
✔ OCV connectors
The 2UZ-FE VVT-i is equipped with an air injection system, which some customers prefer to keep, while others opt to remove it.
🔹 Option 1 – Wire It In: If you want to retain the air injection system, we will ensure it is properly integrated into your harness.
🔹 Option 2 – Delete It: We can remove the air injection wiring and program the ECU to eliminate related error codes, allowing for a cleaner engine bay and simpler installation.
To ensure the ECU functions properly in a swap, we offer immobilizer removal for $140. This service bypasses security lockouts, making the engine functional in your build.
For customers looking for a cleaner swap experience, we offer a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) removal service, ensuring the ECU isn’t reporting unnecessary errors.
Additionally, we provide basic tuning adjustments to optimize performance in a swap setup.
Your modified harness will come with a client plug, simplifying installation.
The client plug includes:
✔ Three essential wires to start the engine:
💰 Basic Wiring Modification: $690
(Includes complete rewiring but does not cover connector replacements.)
💰 Immobilizer Removal: $140
💰 DTC Removal & ECU Tune: $140
💰 Connector Replacement: Priced separately based on harness condition.
(On average, connectors cost $6 each. Total cost varies per harness.)
💰 Air Injection System Wiring or Deletion: Included upon request
✔ A fully rewired, tested harness – Ready for plug-and-play installation.
✔ A video demonstration – Showing the harness in action.
✔ A shared folder with documentation, including:

All the 2UZ ecu's have no trouble with hardware. These ECU are programmable and are not subject to leaking capacitors or actual natural physical damage. If you feel rough shifting this is not a failure from the hardware. You can simply get your ECU flashed with either an update or a fresh file
All 2UZ-FE engines produced after 2007 are equipped with Variable Valve Timing, commonly known as VVTi. This intelligent system manages nearly all vital engine parameters: throttle position, coolant temperature, air volume, and more. Utilizing this data, it adjusts the intake camshaft timing to enhance engine performance and efficiency across low, mid, and high rpm ranges. Another notable feature is the plastic intake manifold with an adjustable intake port length, regulated by Toyota's Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS). This system operates with two intake port lengths: a longer one for low engine speeds and a shorter one for higher speeds.
Within the 2UZ-FE VVTi engine, newly designed lightweight pistons and oil jets are installed in the cylinder block for cooling. The compression ratio has been increased to 10.0:1 to optimize fuel combustion. By 2010, the 2UZ-FE VVTi had fully replaced the previous engine model. However, starting in 2008, the 4.7-liter engine began a gradual phase-out, being superseded by the newer 5.7-liter 3UR-FE and 4.6-liter 1UR-FE engines.
