Toyota and Lexus V8 engine swaps
Toyota and Lexus V8 Standalone Wiring FAQ
Straight answers about standalone wiring harnesses, OEM ECU programming, immobilizer removal, and the information needed before a 1UZ, 2UZ, or 3UZ project begins.
Which Toyota and Lexus V8 engines do you support?
We support selected 1UZ-FE VVT-i, 2UZ-FE, 2UZ-FE VVT-i, and 3UZ-FE VVT-i engine-swap applications using the original Toyota or Lexus ECU system.
Do you support manual and automatic transmissions?
New premium harness builds are available for selected manual 2UZ-FE and 3UZ-FE applications. Rebuilt OEM harness and ECU projects can support manual or automatic applications, including 2UZ-FE automatic wiring and 2UZ-FE VVT-i automatic wiring.
What can ECU programming include?
Supported work can include immobilizer delete, manual-transmission configuration, diagnostic trouble-code changes, speed-limiter changes, and application-specific OEM ECU setup. The available options depend on the ECU and calibration.
Should I order a new harness or rebuild my OEM harness?
Choose a new harness for a supported manual 2UZ-FE or 3UZ-FE project where a complete premium harness is required. Choose an OEM harness rebuild when you already have the original engine harness and need it repaired and reconfigured for standalone operation.
What parts and information do you need?
We normally need the engine model, transmission, recipient vehicle, ECU, harness, and project requirements. Use the Lexus V8 client forms to select the correct service and provide the job information.
Is the harness tested before shipping?
Harnesses are inspected, checked, and bench-tested where the application and supplied components allow. The goal is to identify wiring issues in the workshop before the system is installed in the recipient vehicle.
